Welcome to the Pierre du Bois Foundation created in 2008, in accordance with the wishes of Pierre du Bois, who outlined its objectives long ago: to promote and support research on current history and and to support researchers and students in this field.

The recipients of the Pierre du Bois Prize in 2025, awarded annually for the best doctoral thesis in International History and Politics defended at the Geneva Graduate Institute, are, ex aequo, Dr Fernanda Conforto de Oliveira and Dr Oluwaṣeun Otọsedẹ Williams.

Le colloque international consacré à « la sécurité européenne dans le désordre mondial », organisé par la Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe et la Fondation Pierre du Bois pour l’histoire du temps présent, débutera le jeudi 9 octobre 2025 à 18h00 et se poursuivra toute la journée du 10 octobre, rassemblant près d’une vingtaine d’experts qui interviendront sur des thématiques cruciales comme l’Europe face à la guerre hybride ; les forces militaires et l’armement ; le système de sécurité de l’Europe de l’avenir ; la politique européenne par rapport aux blocs mondiaux. Le colloque aura lieu à Lausanne et pourra être suivi en direct et en différé sur YouTube.

Michele Benazzo just submitted his PhD thesis at the Geneva Graduate Institute. His research interests are the history of radicalism and political violence especially after the Second World War, racism, migration and global history.
